Swami Vivekananda is considered to be one of the most influential Indian spiritual leader and religious reformer. He was a Hindu monk and the chief disciple of yogi and mystic, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. He is considered to be the first spiritual guru from India to introduce Indian concepts of Yoga and Vedanta to Western countries.
Aurobindo Ghose
Aurobindo Ghose, also known as Sri Aurobindo was an Indian yogi, poet, philosopher, spiritual leader, and Indian nationalist. During the early 20th century, he was a prominent name in the Indian nationalist movement for independence. And afterward, became a spiritual reformer and the founder of ‘Integral Yoga’, a yogic practice aimed at spiritual evolution that enhances one’s ability to lead a divine life on earth.
Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore was a celebrated poet, philosopher, writer, composer, and painter from the late 19th and early 20th century. He was born in Calcutta in 1861 into the Tagore family whose contribution was a driving force behind the Bengal Renaissance.
Sepoy Mutiny
Also known by names like the Indian Revolt of 1857, the Indian Mutiny, and the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the Sepoy Mutiny is considered to be the first major uprising against British rule in India by Indian people. The rebellion began in Meerut, a town located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, and gradually spread to Delhi, Kanpur, West Bengal, Lucknow, Gwalior, and other parts of India.
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
Ramakrishna was a prominent 19th-century sage, yogi, mystic, and religious leader from the Bengal region of India. He was a devotee of Goddess Kali and served as the priest at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple located on the eastern bank of Hooghly River in present-day Kolkata.
